The first official day of fall is right around the corner at Lake Martin! We’ve been blessed with high water levels this month at the lake, thanks to summer rains, so there is still time to enjoy all of your favorite lake activities. There are also a slew of fall activities popping up in the surrounding towns! As your Lake Martin real estate team, we’re here to fill you in on activities coming up in October, so you never miss a beat of the fun, no matter what season it is.
1. The Fall Festival in Downtown Dadeville is coming up on Oct. 6! This is an event that local Lake Martin families always looking forward to, as it encompasses everything there is to love about fall. Head to Tallapoosa County Courthouse Square that day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to enjoy arts and crafts, food vendors, music, inflatables and train rides for kids, an antique car show, the Soap Box Derby and more!
2. The Alexander City Oktoberfest is coming up on Oct. 13! This annual day-long celebration features local arts and crafts, dining specials, live entertainment, children’s activities, a custom car and truck show, the annual fun run/walk and more. From candied apples to sausage dogs, it’ll be sure to feel like fall. Head to the Charles E Bailey Sportplex from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
3. Football season is in high gear! Whether you’re heading to a local high school game, or you’re headed to Auburn for a college home game, there is plenty of great football to catch this fall season. When looking for a place to watch the games on TV with other fans, Catherine’s Market plays college football games every Saturday, with free admission. J.R.’s Sportsbar and Grill always has the games on and is family-friendly, with flat screen TVs, wings, burgers and more. There’s an Auburn Game Watch Party scheduled for the Ole Miss game on Oct. 20 at the Fermenters Market on the Green.
4. Oct. 27 is the Fall Family Festival at Russell Crossroads, offering more chances for families to enjoy the fall season together! Watch a working Blacksmith and a working grist mill, treat yourself to horseback riding, enjoy games on the lawn, carve pumpkins, eat hot dogs and lemonade, get your face painted, and try the new Fall Festival BINGO this year.
