February into March is one of the slowest times of the year, isn’t it? We’re all just waiting for longer days, hotter weather, Lake Martin activities and springtime events!
As your Lake Martin real estate team, we hear you, and we suggest you take advantage of this slow time by contacting us about your Lake Martin real estate market goals! Now is the perfect time to do so. The sooner you achieve your home-buying and/or home-selling goals, the sooner you can settle into your new Lake Martin home and enjoy all that the lake has to offer this spring and summer.
Luckily, while this time of year is slow, there are still some events coming up that are worth checking out! Whether staying close to home at Lake Martin, or venturing up to Auburn, here are some options:
1. Hope you’ve been keeping up with your workout routine this winter, because the Russell Forest Run is coming up this Saturday, Feb. 23! This takes place at Russell Crossroads. Enjoy an out and back 10K through Russell Forest, starting at 7:45 a.m., or a 5K, starting at 7:55 a.m. Strollers are allowed! Proceeds benefit the Alex City Schools Education Foundation. Afterward, enjoy a post-race party at The Stables at Russell Crossroads. This is great practice for the Lake Martin 100-Mile Run, coming up March 23-24!
2. If hiking is more your thing, join a group Hike at Smith Mountain Trails! These trails are located just outside Dadeville and run along Lake Martin. The hike will be approximately four miles. At the summit, you can continue to the 90-foot tower and enjoy panoramic views of the area! Participants are encouraged to pack a lunch and lots of water. Departure time will be 8 a.m. this Saturday from the Quintard Mall parking lot. This is a great way to meet others in the area, especially if you just recently relocated here!
3. Celebrate Mardi Gras a little early at the Mardi Gras Ball in Auburn! This will take place at Clarion Inn & Suites University Center this Saturday. Enjoy a night of great music, food and company. Wear formal attire along with a Mardi Gras mask! Masks will provided if needed. Tickets cost $25 for individuals and $35 for couples.
4. If you love chili, head to Auburn for the 2019 Chili Cook-Off on March 2, which benefits Storybook Farm. Head to the Pavilion at Ag Heritage Park from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to enjoy an afternoon of chili, beer, music and more. Kids 12 and under are free and can enjoy the Kids Zone! If you’ve got kids attending Auburn, this is a great excuse to visit them!
Head out and enjoy one of these local events, take this time to relax, or contact us about your Lake Martin real estate market goals. The Haynie Team is always here and ready to answer your real estate questions and to help you achieve your real estate goals!
