The holiday season has arrived here at Lake Martin! As your Lake Martin real estate team, we’re here to fill you in on fun, festive events and activities taking place in the coming month. If you’re staying at Lake Martin this winter, you’ve got lots of holiday happenings to look forward to!
1. Christmas at the Crossroads is this Friday, Nov. 29. The Jolly Elf will head to the Green Stage from the North Pole, and Santa will arrive by carriage around 10 a.m. and will be there until 2 p.m. After the kids give Santa their lists, head to the Town Green for the Holiday Bazaar. Get some holiday shopping done while the kids enjoy arts, crafts and games.
2. The Alexander City Downtown Christmas Parade will take place on Monday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. Break up your work and school week with a fun, festive family activity! Head to Main Street to watch decorated floats all lit up, marching bands, performers, etc. It’s free to attend!
3. The 6th Annual Spirit of a Hometown Christmas Parade takes place on Sunday, Dec. 8! Enjoy fun holiday activities from 12 to 5 p.m., including the festive parade, arts and crafts booths, food booths, train rides, bouncy houses and more. It’s sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
4. Sensory Santa, presented by the Autism Society of Alabama, will take place at the Lake Martin Innovation Center on Saturday, Dec. 14, beginning at noon. Kids with special needs can sit and talk with Santa in a sensory friendly, calming space. There will also be snacks, drinks, hot chocolate, sensory friendly toys, professional photographers and more.
5. A Downtown Christmas will also take place on Dec. 14, on Main Street in Alexander City. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., enjoy all of your favorite holiday activities! There will be a holiday market for shopping, a letters to Santa station, cookie decorating contest, reindeer races, snow tubing, Frosty’s Frozen Playground, pictures with Santa, Polar Express train, sleigh rides, carolers and more!
6. New Year’s Eve Casino Night is back, presented by Lake Martin Young Professionals! Purchase tickets for this event that takes place from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at The Mill Two Eighty. Your ticket gets you $1,000 for casino games, live entertainment, food and a champagne toast at midnight. Cash bar will have all your favorite drinks. Ring in 2020 the right way!
