Can you believe we’re in the month of November on Lake Martin? If you’re already in the holiday spirit, the time has come to mark these upcoming holiday events on your calendar! The Haynie Team is here to fill you in, so in the midst of holiday shopping, decorating your Lake Martin home, preparing your lake home for winter and buying and/or selling real estate, you don’t miss a bit of the fun around Lake Martin!
1.  The Annual Holiday Open House in Alexander City takes place Sunday, Nov. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity to get some of your holiday shopping done early. It’s also a great chance to stock up on holiday home décor for your Lake Martin home! While you’re there, mingle, meet and connect with other local residents who stuck around the Lake Martin area for winter. Grab a coffee and get to know your neighbors!
2. There’s no better time to prepare for Christmas than the day after Thanksgiving, right? Rather than getting swept away in the holiday shopping crowd, bring the family to Christmas at Crossroads on Nov. 24! The kids can visit with Santa after he arrives by horse-drawn carriage at 11 a.m. with Olly Ol Elf. Then enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, games and crafts, and get some shopping done at the holiday bazaar. This event is free to attend from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Russell Crossroads.
3. On Dec. 4. Head to Alexander City for the Hometown Christmas Parade, beginning at 6 p.m. Enjoy a parade of marching bands, dance troupes, musical guests and dozens of lit up, elaborate floats! Stick around until the end to see Santa and Mrs. Claus as the grand finale. The parade lines up on Corner Street and proceeds down Cherokee toward Benjamin Russell High School, then up Church Street, then through the round-a-bout and onto AL 22 to the bottom of the hill. Grab a good spot to watch!
Enjoy your holiday season on Lake Martin, there isn’t anything else like it! When you’re not busy, take the time to curl up with a blanket and hot chocolate on your balcony or by a window, and just appreciate the quiet solitude of the lake in the winter season.
Though the holidays are upon us, the Lake Martin real estate market never quits! Contact us, the Haynie Team, when ready to achieve your real estate goals at Lake Martin this fall or winter season! We are always here and ready to help.
