The beautiful Lake Martin area offers summer fun both on and off the water. Here’s a list of July events we think you’ll enjoy!

July 1, Strand Sessions, Alexander City: Live music at Strand Park featuring local favorite Russell Craig! Russell Craig is an Alabama native with musical styles in country, folk and southern rock. Show starts at 6 p.m. For directions and more info, visit the Strand Sessions website.

July 2, Friday on the Green at Russell Crossroads: Live music from John Bull! John Bull is a one-of-a-kind entertainer. His career spans being a riverboat caption to a talented blues musician. Visit RussellCrossroads.com for more info.

July 2 – July 3, Arti Gras at Russell Crossroads: Talented artisans from the across the region will offer a variety of wonderful and whimsical handmade creations. 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Click here for details and directions.

July 4, Lake Martin Fourth of July Boat Parade: Join the fun and enter your decorated boat and costumed crew, or watch the sights from the shoreline! Parade launches from 255 Kowaliga Marina Road, Alexander City at 10:30 a.m.  Click here for more details. 

July 4, Concert and Fireworks, Lake Martin Amphitheater: Come for the music, stay for the fantastic fireworks show! Bands this year include The Sweet Tea Trio and the Bank Walkers. Grounds open at 5 p.m., concert starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are required, see the AMP website for details.

July 9 – July 10, Lake Martin Rodeo: SPRA-sanctioned rodeo with professional competitions in 8 action-packed events! Includes a rodeo clown show, specialty performances and a petting zoo for the kids. Gates open 5 p.m. at the Alexander City Sportsplex, click here for more info.

July 17, Lions Club Lake Martin Charity Poker Run: Boating for a good cause! Participants will visit all Russell marinas on Lake Martin to collect a playing card from each one, then meet at the Kowaliga Restaurant for a wrap party. Prizes will be given for the best poker hand, the worst poker hand, and the best boat crew! 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., click here for details!
